Antonia Astori (1940 - ) Famous Italian designer of the 20th century. She is known for her elegant and modular designs.
She is very attentive to the aesthetics of furniture, their simplicity, as well as the role they play within the living space.
She then began working for the Italian furniture manufacturer Driade Italian furniture manufacturer Driade.
Antonia will then undertake significant projects in the field of furniture design, creating true "room architectures" for well-known lounges and exhibition spaces.
Among her notable creations are the apartment on Via Dei Chiostri in Milan, the offices of the Driade company in Pacienza, and her own studio on Rossini Street in Milan.
In Industrial Design, she is known for creating a revolutionary modular ensemble called "Driade 1", composed of furniture that can be freely arranged in various ways.
More recently, she created the "Oikos System" (designed in 1968 for Driade HOUSE), a highly elaborate concept that can be installed in any room of the house. Elegant and understated, "Oikos" is now a classic of Driade, for whom she also designed the "Kaos" and "Pantos" systems.
Her work will be featured multiple times at events such as the Milan Triennials, for example.
In 1984, the famous fashion designersMarithé and François Girbaud enlisted her expertise for the interior design of their store located on Etienne Marcel Street in Paris, and subsequently for their outlets worldwide.
Her work travels internationally as she works on arranging Driade's exhibition spaces at trade shows in Berlin, Tokyo, and elsewhere. She also participates in the Milan Triennials and the "Abitare il tempo" fairs in Verona.
